I’m looking for suggestions for a Halloween film that’s suitable for an 8 year old. Is there anything that falls between Something like Hocus Pocus and films like Lost Boys and Fright Night? I have Sky, Netflix, Disney+ and Prime but don’t mind renting something.

He loves both Goosebumps movies, Hocus Pocus,The Witches (the original one). He also liked Zombies on Disney+ and tv shows like Round the Twist, Eerie Indiana and Goosebumps.

We have The House With a Clock In It’s Walls as I’ve just noticed it’s free on Sky VIP!

Arachnophobia

He liked Hotel Transylvania but not sure we saw the last one so he might like that.

We both hate spiders so Arachnophobia would be properly terrifying Shock

Night books on Netflix, it's a 12 but my 9yo DC watched it and enjoyed it, it's got jump scares but it's not gory.

Night books my 8 year old loved it he wanted to watch it yesterday but it's disappeared from Netflix it might get be found somewhere else. Monster house was also surprisingly good.

The Haunted Mansion is good with Eddie Murphy, there is also the Muppets version both on Disney+, the Muppets version is surprisingly good.

It’s a bit late for Halloween now but we ended up watching Mom’s got a date with a Vampire on Disney+ which I quite enjoyed and he thought was great.

We were going to watch The Haunted Mansion so will give that a go soon. I love Coraline! I will keep an eye out for Night Books, I’ve not heard of that one.

Halloween Town and Wrapped Up (I think it was called about Mummies) on Disney we're both hits too with my 9yo if you need any more!
