Is it just me? I know I should cry at how bad some of the acting is but watched it tonight after not seeing it for a few years and bawled like a baby!

It's not just you!

But I get so irritated when mediocre movies make me cry.

The first time I watched it I really enjoyed it but after having watched it more than once I now cringe at the very bad acting and the eye rolling and find it cheesy

I didn't feel much of anything until the very end. I like it although it's long!

QueenBee52 · 25/06/2021 03:34

its phenomenally emotional 🌸

Anthony Hopkins is the best thing about the film

Maybe it's as I get older and i start to wonder whether you have experienced the love he talks about?

Also the relationship with Susan and their goodbye at the end - I guess I'm more conscious of my own father getting older

Me too. (I'm currently weeping through beaches on c5+1 ! )

Jeez I can't rememver much about it but I had this on tape or dvd when it first came out and must've watched it 20 times! I have no idea about feeling emotional so I'll just have to go watch it again :)

Love this film, always makes me cry. The soundtrack is amazing!

The movie is great and it's okay to show emotion.

My DH bought me a second hand rental copy on VHS for Christmas 20 odd years ago. He's the last of the big spenders!
