Anyone been to the cinema?

since lockdown eased?

I really want to see Nomadland on the big screen, but have only had my first vaccination, and also not sure how pleasant an experience it will be with a mask etc.

How has it been for others?

Saw Cruella on Saturday night - loved it and think it was definitely worth seeing on the big screen. Socially distanced along the rows and was an Odeon Luxe with recliner seats so loads of space between rows anyway.

@oldtinhat I agree - I couldn't believe how loud the trailers seemed, my ears were ringing! Fortunately the film wasn't quite so deafening. Cruella - great costumes and make up. We wore our masks all through, but I wasn't conscious of it at all. They were keeping seating socially distanced but there weren't actually many people there.

I cannot rate CRUELLA highly enough... the costumes were stunning and Emma & Emma what a combo 💕 loved the lost&found brothers too.. just a classic wonderful movie 🎉

Are they showing the Bond trailer? I am trying to avoid it due to spoilers.

I loved Cruella too! Surely the costume and makeup Oscar? And I think the Bond trailer has been on virtually every time I've been (plus the Candyman sequel, Venom, The 355 and Black Widow that I remember).

I have so far seen Spiral, Godzilla vs Kong, Judas and the Black Messiah, Nomadland, Peter Rabbit 2, Battle Royale, Surge and Cruella last night - I also have Cineworld Unlimited but I'm a member at the Prince Charles and the Genesis cinemas and I'm trying to keep it even .

Tomorrow I have a ticket for a preview of Dream Horse, then Romeo and Juliet on Saturday and Nobody (preview) on Monday. Every cinema I've been in has been clean and had well spaced out seats even when fully booked & I didn't really look to see whether people were wearing masks in their seats or not, but definitely on the way in and out. I'm so glad they're open again.
