It's driving me bonkers - I remember seeing a trailer probably 5-10 years ago ish where a woman walks out of her living room and a man comes up through the floorboards - I want to see it but can't recall what it was called!
Any ideas lovely MN'ers?

As in supernatural or literally breaking through the floorboards.

Orrrrr.... where he has weird teensy lift type things embedded into his floor (and topped with carpet so you couldn’t see them) where he keeps women hidden under the floorboards, and when he flips a switch they pop up in like a giant test tube so that he can have his wicked way with them? (No really saw that I haven’t made it up).

Reminds me of the X files episode Loomis, or of the Luther episode....too scary, don't know it's name!

spacepoppers · 05/09/2020 17:12

@W00t that Luther episode still gives me nightmares now 😱

W00t · 05/09/2020 17:36

DON'T watch Loomis then space poppers!

W00t · 05/09/2020 17:37

I bet it's the Luther episode the OP is thinking of. It's so creepy, the actor is so good, don't think I could ever watch him in anything else.

custardbear · 06/09/2020 11:08

Hi - thanks for responses, it was a horror type film, the woman that the house going about daily stuff, I remember the clip on the trailer where she leaves the room and someone pushes a flap up and comes up through the floor, I think' it was the lounge (possibly remember a coffee table nearby)

Pretty positive it wasn't X files or Luther and I'm almost positive it was a film trailer

It wasn’t Cape Fear was it?

tsmainsqueeze · 06/09/2020 11:22

pacific heights ?

Heptember · 06/09/2020 11:25

The Pact?

Bananalanacake · 06/09/2020 14:15

Afraid I can't help as I'm not into horror. Can I ask a quick 'help with this film' too? It's an 80's American family film where the lead character is at a news kiosk in the street, the newsagent jokingly offers him a copy of 'Chunky Asses'. I think of it every time I see DP lying in bed reading a journal called 'Ass Compact' - must be the polar opposite of chunky asses, except it's about the underwriting industry.

Tigerty · 06/09/2020 14:23

I have permanent large boxes under my bed because of Luther. No new ideas to the ones already given on your film OP.

custardbear · 06/09/2020 14:26

Not the pact, Pacific heights or cape fear - all fab films though 👍😎

Its not Hellraiser is it?

Heptember · 06/09/2020 14:29

@Bananalanacake is that the Golden Child?

@custardbear Hush? (Disclaimer, only saw about the first 20 minutes of it)

Bananalanacake · 06/09/2020 14:32

Thanks, don't know if I've seen the Golden Child, I was sort of thinking Back to the Future but not so sure:)

Heptember · 06/09/2020 14:35

I don't actually remember it, I just googled 'chunky asses film'. Probably not the wisest move Grin

Playingchesswithpigeons · 06/09/2020 15:21

The little girl who lives down the lane? ( 1976)
Martin Sheen - Jodie Foster.
He comes up from the floor, in the living room, next to a chair.dining room.
I watched it recently on Netflix - very good film. Let me know if this is it :)

Playingchesswithpigeons · 06/09/2020 15:24

@ 1:40 into the trailer

Thecurtainsofdestiny · 06/09/2020 15:25

Blast from the past?

ApocalypseNowt · 06/09/2020 15:34

@Heptember @Bananalanacake

Chunky asses at the newsstand is definitely The Golden Child. Happened to rewatch it last week! Grin

Legallybleachblonde · 06/09/2020 15:40

@W00t omg is that the X Files episode with the man hiding up inside the drainpipe? That freaked me out!!
