I loathed Identity! Not 'cos of the gory bits, i just thought it was a load of far-fetched nonsense (and I love John Cusack).

I know what you mean about pregnant film viewing though, acnebride. I saw Trainspotting when I was pregnant and, had I been in the cinema I would have walked out. The bit with the toilet nearly made me lose my lunch, and then the bit with the baby....I left the room after that.

spacemonkey · 13/10/2004 14:27

agree trainspotting was hard to take

acnebride · 13/10/2004 14:31

Yeah i thought identity was a great plot setup, really good, and it was an 18 so it wasn't out of order really. More about dh than me but that throat thing did get me. don't usually watch 18s.

Feel relieved that I never have to watch trainspotting again but sort of enjoyed it at the time.

DH went all wobbly during Trainspotting and we had to leave - he did not realise it was about drugs/needles! Wimp. I had to get it out on video to see the ending - fab film.

Pagan · 13/10/2004 15:35

Almost walked out on a play called Sex and Shopping - too graphic for me. And did walk out on a play with Daniela Nardini in it. Can't remember the name of it even coz it was so bland

Nimme · 13/10/2004 15:37

None but fallen asleep many times (I am only 34 what happens when I hit 60???)

A.I. is the most recent load of b..... I have ever seen and managed to fall asleep both times we tried to watch it.

Nimme · 13/10/2004 15:38

And walked out of a matinee performance of Carousel the musical. So kitsch - couldn't stop laughing - left before thrown out!

Caligula · 13/10/2004 15:50

Bachelor Party. Went to the chip shop instead, it was wittier and more stimulating.

MummyToSteven · 13/10/2004 15:55

think i have only fall asleep twice at the cinema 0 once during Love and War by Ken Loach, the other time when 8.5 months pg and watching Lost in Translatioj

Flesh Gordon & the Cosmonauts - went to the wrong screen by accident and didn;t want to look prudish so waited a while before walking out

merglemergle · 13/10/2004 16:36

Ok don't flame me but...

The Lord of the Rings.

I want back the 3 hours of my life I wasted last week on the last bit.

Its soooooo bad, sooooo hammy, you can see a joke coming 4 miles off...bascially about Men being Friends and going on Noble Quests to find heroic staffs and so forth.

And the musak is like being stuck in an elevator.

But absolutely no one I know agrees with me. I think I might end up burnt as a heritic at work on this one.

Has anyone else seen Mystery Science Theater? Because thats what me and dh were doing with the LOTR. (basically making smart comments like 13 year olds but with more wit and humour and sophistication).

futurity · 13/10/2004 16:50

i agree with you merglemergle! I was 8 months pregnant when I was forced to sit through it...what a waste of time!!!

2wildbabies · 13/10/2004 19:16

Arlington Road...........what a crap film!!!!

jodee · 13/10/2004 19:19

Boogie Nights ... we were staying in Nottingham when it came out, walking the streets, bored. Had no idea what the film was about, thought it was something along the lines of Saturday Night Fever- whoops.

bakedpotato · 13/10/2004 19:32

clint eastwood (bit of a culprit on this thread)'s white hunter black heart. tried to get my money back too. Failed, but then this was before the days of Waterstones' Get Your Money Back If Not Satisfied policy

would have left forrest gump but trapped at end of row in huge cinema, would have made 25 people very cross indeed

now i'll sit rapt through any old crap, even Dodgeball

dawnie1 · 13/10/2004 19:37

Eyes Wide Shut - Absolute rubbish !! No storyline and every women totally stark naked from the 1st minute whilst Tom Cruise wears a full length black cloak and a mask - !!!!!

bakedpotato · 13/10/2004 19:42

oh EWS really was pants. definitely wanted to leave, but must have been frozen to my seat in horrid fascination

awful in same way as Bitter Moon: pretentious, with lots of gratuitous female nudity. once went out with man who swore BM was cinematic genius. that was end of THAT. think walked out of BM too

CountessDracula · 13/10/2004 19:43

some god awful woody allen film, something about a Mall I think? Got accosted walking past the cinema and given free preview tickets, we lasted about 15 minutes I think

spook · 13/10/2004 19:45

Maybe Baby. Complete pile of toss. Oh and Merglemergle-if you check my post on films you fell asleep in...Lord of the Rings was top of my list. I was also furious to have wasted a night on such bollocks-well-not wasted exactly.I did catch up on some sleep.

Rowlers · 13/10/2004 20:18

Silence of the Lambs - saw it at about 1am when it first came out. Didn't know what it was about and was quite drunk. It really freaked me out.
Also, a Peter Greenaway Film, think it was the Baby of Macon. Anyway it had horrid rape scenes in it which I felt were completely gratuitous, just a twatty ponced up film director thinking he was clever. It was repugnant so I left.

Tickle · 13/10/2004 20:45

Titanic too. It was pants.
And dh walked out of King Arthur a while ago (I wasn't there)
Liked kill bill though, and sliding doors (maybe just wistful london spotting?)
