If they remade the Harry Potter films today, who would you cast?

Just reflecting on how many iconic character actors were in the films, and who would be cast now?

I would have had the little girl from Outnumbered as Hermione if it were a few years ago.

I'd also love to have seen Sophie Turner play Ginny Weasley.

Snape will always be Alan Rickman for me, but I can picture Adam Driver playing him.

And possibly a Benedict Cumberbatch Voldemort.

What do you think?

Daniel Radcliffe has/had the theatrical range of a foghorn. The exact same expression and tone throughout the entire movie series.

Emma Watson maintaining any level of success in acting is a mystery up there with what happened to Amelia Earhart. She is just dreadful in anything she’s been in.

I was watching the live action Jungle Book the other day and the boy playing Mowgli was phenomenal, so it’s not that kids just can’t act as well. I don’t understand how the HP producers had their pick of the most talented kids in the U.K. and they ended up with EW and DR.

Agree about Adam Driver as Snape. I spent three Star Wars films trying to decide whether i fancy him. Grin

Adam Driver as Snape is perfect!! (I love Alan Rickman though even though he was too old really). Tim Roth was originally cast I think but decided to do the Planet of the Apes remake instead

I never really got on board with Gary Oldman as Sirius - like the idea of Kit Harrington if we are casting more age appropriate!

Could definitely see Ewan McGregor or Jude Law as Lockhart!

I think Olivia Coleman would make a brilliant Umbridge rather than McGonigal!
