I am trying to find out the name of a film I watched a few years ago. I only remember vague details though!

It was black and white, there was a man and woman in a garden arguing. The man was in love with the woman and she was marrying someone else. The man eventually convinced the woman to leave the other man and marry him instead. I think there was a maid involved too..

And that's all I remember! Anyone any ideas?!

The Philadelphia Story?

MuthaClucker · 30/05/2020 21:44

Or the remake High Society?

Yes! It's The Philadelphia Story. Thank you so much @MuthaClucker 😄

Wow that cleared that up quickly!

It's a fabulous film. Brilliant performances from all the cast (Katherine Hepburn being amazing as ever, Cary Grant all witty and smooth as the ex-husband, Jimmy Stewart as the journalist who ends up snogging her when they're both drunk, with the hilarious morning after the night before scene).

(PS a quick google suggests it's on Amazon Prime video at the mo!)

Yay! It was my first thought, there are white rose bushes in the garden iirc. Like Cara says, a fabulous film.

ittybittylivingspace · 30/05/2020 22:42

Ooh thanks @CaraDune , will def watch it! I seen some of it in a hotel room a few years ago while on holiday, it's been on my mind ever since but google wasn't helping with my limited information!
