The Oscars 2020 who's going to be watching?

I have mixed feelings about who I want to win really.

I have not seen Parasite or 1917 so i dont know what their chances are. Judging by the BAFTAS they must be favourites. Or, dont the BAFTAS count for anything in Hollywood?

Im excited for tonight I may go for a nap later on.

It's about a very poor family who come into contact with a rich family and their lives intertwine.

Parasite was amazing, glad it won best screenplay

Sorry, following on here now. Just watched the winning animation short Hair Love which made me cry because I am soft.
I am so pleased for Taika Waititi - I have not seen Jojo yet but bloody loved Taika's Hunt for the Wilderpeople and What we do in the shadows. I came to them late, saw them last year based on recommendations on here and fell in love. Taika was described as looking like Tan France's dad recently which tickled me.

Why is Eminem performing a song nominated years ago

That's odd. He didn't turn up when he won for it and I still remember the cringe of Barbra Streisand giving the Oscar to a random he sent in his place. He gave a cock ring as a wedding gift to Elton, maybe they're sat together or maybe the goody bag's good this year - has Eminem got an album to promote

I am just waiting for Cynthia Erivo. Eminem is when the anti establishment reaches middle age and realises his needs more pension money. The audience didn’t know how to react to him.

The looked hilarious dancing to him in their seats.

I have packed it in, the rubbish song from Toy Story (pun intended) was my cur to try and get 4/5 hours

I had a nap and woke up towards the end but yes, first foreign language film to win outright Best Film. Unexpected but cool. I want to see it but had bits spoilered so we shall see. Night (or morning!)

Didn’t watch it but looked it up this morning. Pleased for Brad Pitt and Renee Zellwegger - Laura Dern, Marriage Story...... really? It was a pile of crap and there were better supporting performances out there

As PP, have had no chance to see Parasite as they are not showing it at my local cinema. Probably think our town won’t cope with subtitles

Agree about Laura dern, I didn't think it was a standout performance!

Pleased that Parasite has won though! Nice to have a change from the usual Hollywood blockbuster or drama

Any of the other 4 would have been a better winner - especially Scarlett Johansson for JoJo Rabbit

Loved 1917.
Wonder if this prompting of diversification has effected the choice between them.

Parasite is an awesome film and worth watching on the big screen. Don't wait for it to come to TV

Btw if any gets a free Now TV subscription but worries they'll forget to cancel it, I think you can cancel it any time you remember but it runs out at the end of trial period anyway?
