Its very moving and has brilliant cinematography - some scenes are like recreations of Tintorettos - such as the Passion etc

..and La Pieta....

I saw it, unfortunately with dh, so felt embarassed about crying. i thought it was excellent. Also kept grabbing bible to check/compare. Also kept having to explain stuff to dh, so i'd like to watch it again on my own and allow myself to get totally absorbed in it. I thought it was excellent, but did feel horrifically dedadent watching it while drinking a glass of wine.

Just finished watching it, well about 5 minutes ago, I had to compose myself first. I sobbed my heart out. Had to leave the room at one point and sit in the kitchen for a minute. Fantastic film. Well done Mel Gibson.
Haven't cried like that in a film but then I guess that's the point, it's not just a film. To think anyone could have been made to suffer like that. Actually makes me want to rush off to church. Am going to read Lottie her childrens bible to her as her good night story tomorrow, well some of it anyway!
