How is ET a classic Christmas film??

Surely classic would be It's a Wonderful Life, White Christmas, Oliver and the like...ET"s not even festive!

elQuintoConyo · 21/11/2019 12:35

dafuq ET? Grin

Arthur Christmas
Elf (altho my 8yo hates it)
Deck the Halls
Home Alone 1 (2 is a repetitive snorefest)
Fred Christmas
Merry Christmas Charlie Brown
Polar Express

Die Hard - but for adults!

Muppet Christmas Carol with Michael Caine as Scrooge. One of his best performances ever!!!

Quineothebroch · 21/11/2019 12:47

The Railway Children 1970s one
Muppet Christmas Carol again

PrivateSpidey · 21/11/2019 12:57

When I saw the thread title, I was thinking/hoping Christmas in Connecticut and the like Grin I am too old for ET to be a classic!

ElQuinto has it, good list there OP - agree with Muppets as well, total classic.

You can't go wrong with Miracle on 34th St either - the original!

I remember we always used to watch The Slipper and the Rose (ie Cinderella: The Musical!) at Christmas, although it doesn't have anything to do with Christmas as such so probably not relevant!...

My dc love Home Alone so much it is actually quite worrying. I prefer Elf, myself.

Arthur Christmas and The Nativity films are favourites here (not number 4 though!)

Imonlydoingwhatican · 21/11/2019 13:18

All the above. If you have netflix christmas chronicled is very good

Honeybee85 · 21/11/2019 13:19

The Polar Express
Home Alone
I really loved The Nightmare before Christmas, it definitely has that ‘Christmas feeling’ for me but might be a bit creepy for children.

Honeybee85 · 21/11/2019 13:19

Groundhog Day
