He and I like slightly leftfield stuff, ie not so much the superhero stuff, more Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Cool Runnings, Eddie the Eagle, etc.

Alternatively a good series - one fave is Friday Night Dinners.

Can anyone recommend anything please? We have Netflix and Prime.

Thanks!

My son (12) and I have enjoyed The Good Place, Brooklyn 99 and Derry Girls (all series). Although all of them have a dfair few sex jokes but it's an opportunity to discuss things I suppose ;)

You and your son sound like us, it's only Cool Runnings we're missing, it's not on Netflix for us :(

My son (15) and I are really enjoying The Politician.

How about Good Omens on Prime? DS (14) and I have watched them all.

The island is a good film for that age group.

Would he like Elementary? My 13yo DD loves it. Johnny Lee Miller is brilliant in it.

Thank you so much all! This is great - off to google the afternoon away at work, much appreciated.

I second Good Omens!

@AlbertWinestein I have The Politician on my list - is it too adult for a 12-year-old (who clearly gets to watch all manner of unsuitable things anyway)?

IsletsOfLangerhans · 04/10/2019 15:01

I third Good Omens! And The Good place. My two (12 & 14) also really liked Parks and Recreation

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 04/10/2019 16:11

If he's into comedy, I always think Red Dwarf is a good, tacky, appealing to teen series Grin

Legomadx2 · 18/10/2019 21:28

Just to say we ended up watching Parks and Recreation and it was GREAT!

We're still going on it and even grumpy DH joins us now and laughs on the sofa despite himself.
