Do any of you have an anxiety to certain sounds in films?

Roars do it for me. Any type of loud roars, like Lions!

DH and I watched The Shining the other day. The sound effects in that movie gave me anxiety. My heart was pounding in my chest. The noises were scarier than the actual movie!

Music is what gets me. Like jaws music and such. When I'm watching a scary movie if it gets too scary I turn the sound off.

Sounds daft but I really can't watch films where Red Indians attack - all the war cries and the scalpings give me the proper horrors
I'd take all the horror films over them any day

Sudden sounds are the WORST

The beginning of Cabin in the woods and Insidious have me on edge, even though I have watched them both quite a few times.
I love being scared though so even if they're not that scary, it sets the mood just right.

Yes, lots, eg spaceships cruising, sounds accompanying any violent scenes (I rarely watch 15-rated films when rating is for violence), car chases, suspense music. Doors slamming.

In fact, surround sound in general makes me edgy!

I especially dislike any sounds to do with “peril”!

I do have anxiety issues.

Kissing sounds. Fucking hate them.

Under water sounds. Like in Titanic when they are under the water looking at the wreck. I don’t like water, don’t like being under water and it gives me major anxiety.

Erratic or loud noises generally make me want to hump someone. Adverts are muted here, just to avoid the fallout violence 😂
