The purge, what would you do?

Me and my partner have recently been watching the purge films and naturally it sparked the conversation of if purge night was real would you join in and what would you do, I've said there are a few exs that would no longer be around, so I'm curious what other people would do

I’d cut off/out the feet, hands, tongue and eyeballs of my BIL. I wouldn’t kill him, just make him completely helpless and unable to hurt others.

I’d probably try to steal some money too.

I'd shutter up, switch all the lights off and wait, armed with any weapon I could get hold of.

I wouldn't go out to make trouble, but if trouble came, I'd be waiting.

Finances permitting, I'd build a panic room.

Join a gang and hope for the best. Safety in numbers

Id be up for some looting though.

I’d probably just hide somewhere

My neighbour is horrible so I might set her house on fire so she’s forced to move.

I'd get shutters for the house, then go abroad every year during purge night with my entire family!

Kill Ryan.
Steal gold bullion.

Oooh, I wonder if I have time enough to kill all of my list in one night. I would have to hurry a bit.

So you can kill with impunity? Of course I wouldn’t kill anyone, other than as a revenge fantasy I’d be amazed that anyone would. I fancy that cottage on the island though.

I’d be boring and flee the country with my family.

If you knew Ryan Muddy I reckon you'd agree he needs it.

Well as it can be any crime (the films only bother with murder) I would go and trespass in my annoying neighbours garden just to annoy him. I'm that crazy

I would leave the country for a few days. That means my family will be safe.

Trespass isn't actually a crime!

I suppose it's a question of whether the thing preventing you being a murderer is the law, rather than a conscience

I would move to a country that didn't support this because it's wrong on so many levels its ridiculous.

Some of you are so serious. Have you never fantasised about hitting someone because they really hurt you? Not that I'd actually do it but it kind of feels good to think about it. Murder is a bit more extreme but I do have a fantasy purge list (containing extreme people). Child abusers are on the top of the list.

I would hide and be heavily armed, so if trouble came to my door I would be prepared.
I have met some cruel bastards over the years. I have thought about taking revenge on them. But then I think would I be able to live with myself afterwards. My punishment wouldn't make me any better than them. Plus the following purge year there's the chance that their families would seek revenge on me.

I thought about this too. I'd definitely lock up the shutters on my house (manually so they couldn't be hacked,) and leave with my family so we were abroad on purge night. I don't think staying would be a good idea as something always happens that let the crazy people in your house and you then have to leave your house and try to survive purge night in the wild. I can't see us surviving as we have no real street smarts or know how to shoot a gun, or even have a gun.

I did an online quiz once which compared movie scenarios. One question was - would you rather be a contestant in the hunger games or outside during the purge?

In reality I would hide.
In fantasy I would kill the man that sexually abused my best friend when she was 4 (although I did punch him in the face when I was 18 which was quite cathartic)
