I haven't been able to get to the cinema, but I also have been keeping half an eye on what's on and to my mind there has been a lot of crap.
It's time to do my Lovefilm list again and I am struggling to think of anything that's now on DVD that I'd like to watch.
Has it just been a bad time for films or have I not been paying enough attention?

I just saw the Painted Veil with some girlfriend sthe other night and deffo recommend it. It has Edward Norton who's always good. Set in l920s China, love story.

The Queen was fun.
Pan's Labryrinth was gruelling but amazing.
Have you checked out Mark Kermode's reviews on the Radio 5 website? He's never given me bad advice. Sorry, can't do links, but it's easy to find.

Haven't been to the pictures in ages but the last two DVD's I've enjoyed are Little Miss Sunshine and Pan's Labyrinth.

The Last King of Scotland

Think it's longer ago but The Prestige was excellent.

We watched confetti last night, it's froth but well written/acted froth. Great cast: Alison Steadman, Martin Freeman, Jessica Stephenson from The Royle Family. I really enjoyed it, agree with the reviewer on Amazon who says it's 'The Office-lite'

I've only been to the cinema once in over a year, but we saw Blades of Glory and absolutely laughed our heads off. Very good. But if you watch it at home it would probably need a beer or a glass of wine to help it along.
