she was depressed by her mother committing suicide and the fact her father didnt seem to pay her any attention and went off hunting instead to morocco

she felt like a freak for being deaf anf felt no boy would pay her any attention just for her, so she was desperately trying to gain the affection and love she craved from her father, in the wrong way
