It really annoys me and seems unfair how the prices at cinemas are the same yet screen sizes and seating vary quite drastically!
I use my local cineworld, although all cinemas are more or less same. Larger screens have step up row seating so no worry of heads obscuring screen and huge screen size making the cinema experience what I expect to pay for. Yet smaller screens feel cramped and usually almost all have rows on a slight floor level decline making it impossible for a kid to see the whole screen if an adult sits infront or even an adult would find it irritating I guess if they are short like me. Front rows are also practically right infront of the screen!
I wanted to watch Jurassic world with my DC, but due to working past few weekends only had this weekend free but when I went to book it’s now showing on a smaller screen and from past experience I have decided not to go.
My DC youngest being 7, but short for his height. He finds the plastic booster seat cinema provide quite uncomfortable as it’s not wide enough, but even then if an adult sits infront his view is obscured. I probably wouldn’t mind paying out for a smaller screen if the prices reflected this but just feel it’s not worth the risk of not enjoying the trip at peak prices.
I’m a single mum so don’t go that often. Maybe once a month or every 6 weeks. Mainly due to the excessive cost plus food. (They all love their popcorn and tango blasts!) Family live far away so can’t ask anyone to take them for me when working, and the ex works abroad. DC really look forward to cinema trips. They have been asking to watch Jurassic Park since it came out so feeling bad atm.
During movies for juniors I have taken them and just think it’s a bargain price so risk it, so even if youngest can’t see screen properly and loses interest and plays up and it’s a waste I don’t feel too bad.
I’m sorry for going on about it, and although my personal circumstances are irrelevant to the post.
Just wanted to get opinions if others have felt the same re the unfairness of prices being the same for all screen sizes.
Ps. Hoping they show Jurassic Park as movie for juniors then will be in same predicament but won’t worry too much about money side of it.
Also I know it’s a personal choice we either go and put up with it or don’t go at all. So please no sarky comments. Just want to know if this has ever bothered others too. Thank you.
