Can't get my head around this new 12A rating. Can you give abit of detail about it regardless ofwhat you think.

Thanks

My 7 year old won't be seeing it. Although some people say, 'it depends on the child' I personally don't think it is right for young children to see violent films.
And I think it is crap that all the spiderman clothes/lunchboxes etc is aimed at younger kids but then they make the age limit for watching the film 12 ... makes no sense.

My boys' pre-school teacher said it's an incredibly scary movie. My two won't be seeing it until they're the age it's aimed at. It is a PG13 here (USA) and it's that rating for a reason. My two get scared by Scooby Doo .

DS 6 loved it, DS 3 did too.
A few scary bits that made them jump but nothing really disturbing.
It is not "an incredibly scary movie", a few shocks but it's fantasy violence very little that a kid would identify as potentially happening to him.

My nephew went to see it . He's 3. He watches Jaws and Mortal Combat though.
My ds watches Number Jacks and backYardigans.

Ds did watch spiderman 1 with dh who fast forwarded all the scary bits.

I think a 7 year old should be ok but it depends if they get scared easily. have nightmares etc.

no which is why it has a 12 rating

doh

my 5 year old loved it but he is not easily scared. He didn't understand quite a bit though and has talked about it a lot since, trying to work out the plot

hi

I remember going to see it at the cinema as an adult and being really freaked out by it - especially the Sandman! Ratings are given for a reason.
