Off to see this in IMAX on Thursday morning!

Even if not a cliffhanger, something not finished or resolved, as at the end of TFA, to make you care about what happens next.

Lweji · 17/12/2017 13:12

I do want to know what happens next. It's not sorted nor solved by any means.

nooka · 17/12/2017 18:06

I cared about what happened next at the end of Force Awakens mainly because I loved the new characters. I care about them much less now and that makes me sad. I'm not sure we'll go and see the next one, and we'll definitely not buy Last Jedi on DVD.

Liliywil · 17/12/2017 18:41

I enjoyed watching this movie and you can watch it with your kids too. My DD loved watching it with me

FreeNiki · 18/12/2017 23:59

I watched the force awakens on Netflix last night.

Absolute crock of shit. Same old stuff rehashed. Wars over but a other oppressive group rises up, another resistance....blah blah blah.

Not sure I'll bother with this one.

Lweji · 19/12/2017 00:45

One of the best things for me in this one is how women were included and portrayed.

reallyneedmoresleep · 26/12/2017 21:51

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Very unpredictable.loved the interaction between Rey and Kylo Ren.😁 a reclining seat really makes the 152 mins bearable.

Plantlover · 30/12/2017 23:00

Didn't enjoy it and was far too long.

lessworriedaboutthecat · 30/12/2017 23:05

I thought it was ok. I'm really looking forward to the next one though. Rise of The Empress (Throne of Blood ).

LoniceraJaponica · 01/01/2018 23:13

I loved it. I saw the original films when they came out, but was disappointed with the prequels. I thought I had fallen out of love with the films so didn't see the last two.

I took DD as she was feeling a bit flat after Christmas and new year, and was surprise at how much I enjoyed it. I didn't feel that I had missed out by not seeing the last two.

herecomesthsun · 10/01/2018 09:59

The working title of the next one is apparently Black Diamond

NewYearNiki · 10/01/2018 17:04

Saw it.

That was crap.

Nothing has changed. Since the first. Same old stories.

PaulPatterson · 18/01/2018 09:32

I expected more from this film=(

EmpressoftheMundane · 19/01/2018 10:29

Saw it at the IMAX this weekend with the kids. Loved it! Right up there with The Empire Strikes Back.

A lot of layers and complexity. Not boring, cardboard cutouts, but some characterisation and new ideas and threads to follow which will freshen up the franchise. And the chemistry between Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley is electric. All innuendo, perfectly safe to take the kiddies.

I loved the film but thought Daisy Ridley was dreadfully weak in it. I loved her in the previous one :(

overnightangel · 09/08/2019 23:52

Finn may as well not have been in it, did nothing to advance his character.
Rose was on til that ridiculous venue at the end that made no sense.
Ray was ok.
Po was a different character entirely.
Luke Skywalker woefully shat upon with his storyline, and the less said about Leia floating thru space the better, it was like a piss take
Instead of running with the loose ends and numerous avenues to go down director Rian Johnson was more interested in his whole “subverting expectations” ego bullshit than making a good film. The “humour” was finally completely out of place (and not funny.... did we really have a ‘yo momma’ type home in the opening scene 😳)
I’d put this second bottom of the list of 11 SW films so far, only by virtue of the fact that the Phantom Menace shat on my childhood 20 years ago and I’ve never forgotten it
1/10

Oh and the bloke who plays the whiny man child Kylo Ren is about as smouldering as mr bean!
