heat - if you havne't seen it shame shame shame...best action film for people with some intelligence ever

Play it Again Sam ?

Another vote for Heat. Sticking with the De Niro theme, Casino, and Cape Fear - the 1991 version.
Magnolia - Tom Cruise's career best performance!
The Ice Storm.
The Last Days of Disco (or the others in this Whit Stillman sort-of-trilogy, Metropolitan and Barcelona)
The Big Lebowski.

point break: hokum that makes you want to be a surfer.

Heathcliffscathy · 15/04/2007 21:48

boogie nights....fantastic. julianne moore off her tits on cocaine and a porn star but still managing to come across as a kind of gentle mumsie type....

MuminBrum · 15/04/2007 21:50

I'm sure you're right, Sophable; I watched the 1962 original feeling "this is indeed film greatness", but I enjoyed the 1991 version more, just the same!
1980s films - how about Something Wild or After Hours?
