Took ds and dd1 to see this yesterday, and actually fell asleep!! Dd1 didn't like it either, ds did, but then he is easy to please !!

I quite liked it actually, so much better than Chicken Little (which was the last disney offering I was at the cinema). Liked the nerdy boffin hero, liked Doris the hat baddy, liked its surreal quality - bits of it are quite mad and appealed to both my children (sinatra frogs and backwards grandpa especially).

My kids have been 'inventing' things non stop since we got back

oh dear - was just about to take dses and friend (8 and 10). It's that or Mr Bean and Would the Robinsons be appropriate for 10 yr old boys or too young?

I fell asleep, but that's normal for me during kids' films. Am reliably informed by my film buff ten year old son that Mr Bean is better, but my two boys both enjoyed Meet the Robinsons.

For the first half of the film I thought that whoever made it must have been 'on drugs' at the time! And yes its very surreal.

But then in the second half threads of the story came together a bit more and I ended up liking it more. DS2 (5) really liked it.

But I find the mish mash of characters in the film rather annoying. I also remeber thinking this about Flushed Away!

I like the relative simplicity of original Pixar films like Bugs Life and Toy Story which I used to have to watch over and over with DS1. Don' think I could do the same with the above film.

Don't say that - ds is taking some mates on Saturday for his birthday !! We've even had to move venue as it finished too soon at the one we'd originally planned, wonder why ! Mind you, they enjoyed Happy Feet ...

Well it wasn't the worst kids' film I've ever seen (that was probably Shark Boy and Lava Girl) but then I am not a ten year old boy Ds1 (10) gave it 8 out of 10 and said not as good as Toy Story or Shrek but better than Lemony Snicket. I disagree about LS.

If the choice is this or Mr Bean I'd personally go to this but that's because Mr Bean gves me the creeps. Ugggghhh.

puddle - surely even watching paint drying is better than Chicken Little, that really was dire. When we got home and I told dh the story line it sounded like a wierd hallucination.
