Feeling stupid/completely at odds with the critics. Anyone watched A Ghost Story? SPOILER ALERT

I didn't get it. I had been really looking forward to it.

Casey Affleck standing around in a sheet. Actually, could have been anyone. Ethereal? Not to me, just someone in a big white sheet.

Pie eating scene - I didn't get any feelings beyond why does she keep digging and digging but then there's only a little bit of pie on her fork.

Existential questions are right up my street but i was not left with any.

I feel a bit stupid. Maybe it was the glass of wine I had before, maybe I missed the nuances, wasn't attuned to the subtext.

I remember 10+ years ago critics loving Of Time and the City and I felt so bored that sitting through it felt like a physical challenge.

I just came on here to ask if anyone else had seen it as I went with my friend this evening. I absolutely loved it, she felt the same as you OP!
It was very slow moving, and I did think the pie eating scene could have been a lot shorter, but other than that, I thought it was beautiful.

Just me then!

I think the weirdness of the sheet look stopped it feeling poignant for me.

And I think the ghost scared me. I felt like his presence was sinister from the moment he appeared which I assume wasn't the intention.
