Yes it was weird wasn't it.

NikiBabe · 02/07/2017 18:48

No explanation no nothing and the couple didnt even seem to like each other that much.

Nice advert for Iceland though.

What's it about ?

Is it English speaking ?

NikiBabe · 02/07/2017 18:54

It is English speaking. Two American tourists in Iceland.

It's an apocalypse film.

Ooh...sounds right up my street

I like a bit of weird

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 02/07/2017 19:25

I gave up half way through and I'm the woman who sat through an entire Japanese film about a sweet bean paste maker.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 02/07/2017 19:26

Am watching Gypsy and Glow and living them though.

AnyFucker · 03/07/2017 23:44

I watched it and loved it

It was strange and thought provoking. The almost complete lack of plot and answers to what happened left lots of space to fill with your own

I love films where almost nothing happens. I like to have my imagination stimulated. If you watched it with a "SCI FI" hat on, expecting post apocalyptic aliens or Will Smith chasing down vampire monsters you will be sorely disappointed

If anyone else actually liked it apart from me I recommend "Under The Skin" with Scarlett Johanssen as you have never seen her before

BayLeaves · 03/07/2017 23:50

I liked it, it wasn't your standard Hollywood format apocalypse film with an obvious plot. It was more philosophical and thought provoking. I must admit I did want to know why everyone disappeared but I realised fairly early on they were not going to explain it.

Also, without wanting to spoil it for anyone who hasn't watched yet, my first thought at the ending was "how selfish" Sad

NikiBabe · 04/07/2017 10:56

Bayleaves I thought that too.

Spoiler coming!

I thought too that meeting Nils would spur her on a bit. There other people around thety just have to find them. Not many but there are others.

I think her realisation at the end made her do it. She waa excited about getting a message and realising it was from him made her disappointed.

@AnyFucker

Look out for It Comes At Night.

Currently in the cinema. It's another very weird, moody apocalypse drama. It was very good.
