So the trailer for the new IT movie just came out...looks fantastic...

But AIBU to think that no-one will be fantastic and iconic as Tim Curry was when he played Pennywise??

We all float down here.....

I'm in two minds about the film, it does look good but I hate having to wait for the second film to be released (correct me if I'm wrong and it's going to be all in one).
I really loved the Tim Curry adaptation, it was jumpy rather than gory which is still how I like my horrors. Looking back I was far to young to watch it but my mum let us all sleep with her when my dad was on a night shift so that we could watch it in bed with her.

My DD has watched stranger things about 10 times so thought I would get her to watch the original It mini series. She did think it was a bit crap but loved Tim Curry as Pennywise and she really wants to see this new one bit as she is only 11 I think she will have to wait til its on DVD! I'll get her to read the book first

Notcold My DD likes horror books and enjoys typical teen scary films but the clown's a step too far!

Beast My Dsis is the one who ingrained a love of Stephen King, she isn't scared of clowns but is absolutely petrified of balloons!

noble DH and I just finished watching Stranger Things and commented that it has a very SK-ish vibe to it Grin Totally agree it's worth watching, it's fantastic. Plus Richie Tozier is in it and is a cracking little actor!!

For all the IT mega-fans, I can also highly recommend the audiobook read by Steven Weber. I've been wanting it for ages and it finally appeared on iTunes recently. It didn't disappoint at all, Weber is absolutely fantastic.

stoorie Yes! I keep meaning to watch that, heard great things!

I've talked DH into going to the cinema with me when IT comes out. It must be true love because he's absolutely terrified of clowns.

armpitz · 29/03/2017 20:24

Already terrified!

StewPots · 29/03/2017 20:25

Noble yes! Sounds excellent from what I've heard, will give it a go! Grin

I'm scared of clowns but It is my favourite book of all time so I'll have to put up with them for this Smile

StewPots · 29/03/2017 20:28

IT is all downloaded and ready to go! 🎈🎈🎈

Hi OP - just moving this over to Films. Shout if that's a problem!

StewPots · 03/04/2017 16:05

MNHQ - no problem, I thought I'd opened it there, obviously not! Whoops Smile

Can't wait for it! Hate the Georgie bit though 🙈

BumbumMcTumtum · 03/04/2017 17:08

I like the Tommy Knockers book crossover where someone says they leave town and see a clown there.

JustAnotherSilentOldNumber · 04/04/2017 17:45

Do we know if Tim Curry has a cameo, becuase that would be the icing on the cake?
