Feeling very happy as a Kiwi that so many people love Hunt for the Wilder People. (I haven't seen it yet.)

Having just come back from seeing Hidden Figures, I would say that (haven't seen Moonlight yet though!)

Brilliant film, so uplifting but made me angry, what a waste of talent when 50% of the population are excluded from opportunities and attainment. How stupid! What those women had to go through! They must have been SO strong... so glad the film was made. Everyone should see it. Should be on the school curriculum.

This is hard as I am a commitment phobe but I will choose just one for each in order to follow the rules:
TV: Game Of Thrones
Film: I, Daniel Blake. I only watched this recently but it really hit me, coming from an area that's very much filled with people similar to the characters, it felt like watching real people rather than actors.

Another vote for Hunt for the Wilderpeople but I can't actually remember anything I watched on TV last year.
