Wow. Just wow. The most beautiful film I've ever seen.

I don't think I'll ever stop crying.

the book doesnt say much about Mantosh at all. Because of what he went through with his own family and the fact it took 2 years for the adoption to go through meant he suffered more.

FreeNiki · 11/02/2017 18:17

I read in an article somewhere that he has autism and this wasn't explored at all.

Reading his comment on facebook he is upset to be portrayed as an addict Sad

So proud of Dev Patel, and pleased as punch about his Bafta win, and how his mother took him to an audition when he was 16 for Skins. Bless his mum

Saw the film..cried..read the book and cried again even though know what happens!

TinklyLittleLaugh · 14/02/2017 22:56

Saw it today. Amazing film, I can hardly believe Dev Patel, that little kid from Skins is such a big star. And yes, not a dry eye in the house.

CartwheelGirl · 15/02/2017 17:51

Would this be suitable for kids, 9 and 12y old, or too dramatic?

NotPennysBoat · 15/02/2017 21:00

I wouldn't take my 12yo Cartwheel. This is a great site for giving common sense age suitability...

Thanks!

I have taken my 11yo to see it twice now - we were persuading family members that they should watch it, and she asked if we could go again with them. She is very mature, though, and has quite mature tastes.

It is quite an intense film. Might be a bit much for a 9yo.

JustDanceAddict · 16/02/2017 14:30

I read the book too after seeing the film. A lot more detail after he goes back to India - amazing story. I'd let my 14 year old watch it, but it's quite harrowing for younger kids. Not sure my younger DS would be that interested.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 16/02/2017 18:59

We took our 10 year old, he enjoyed it, found it a bit of an eye opener.

ExcuseMyEyebrows · 18/02/2017 14:07

Amazing film and an incredible story. I fell in love with little Sunny who was just adorable and a fine actor (and of course the same can be said of Dev Patel!)

I'd like to know Mantosh's story too Sad
