Part of the end is bothering me. I've seen it twice.

Why didn't the Aurors have their memories obliviated by the rain like the No-Majs / Muggles. We know the Obliviate spell works on wizards, thanks to Gilderoy Lockhart (Order of Merlin, Third Class, Honorary Member of the Dark Force Defence League and five-time winner of Witch Weekly's Most-Charming-Smile Award). If Scamander had been testing it and found its useful properties, he must have been testing on Muggles, then surely? Bit unethical Grin

The Swooping Evil potion spreading through the rain was a stretch as it is, let alone it not affecting the magical population.

Yeah, that makes sense mamapants
Did you follow instructions youareallabunchofbastards or did you make it up yourself? Maybe I should go looking for my crochet hook.

I bloody thought that it looked a bit like johnny depp but didnt think it was him because his face looked weird. A bit wide or something.

I struggled to hear/understand a lot of it. It seemed quite mumbley.

Why are they making more movies? This one had a good ending ending.

Yes me too delete which also means there's probably a real Graves somewhere, meaning Colin might make more appearances.
Very disappointed they cast Johnny Depp.

I did a squeal of delight at Colin Farrell. Such a fine, fine specimen.

And, er, yes, the rest of the film was quite good too Blush

Wish we'd heard more about the beasts though

I suspect a lot of people will feel the same about the johnny depp casting. The tide certainly seems to have turned against him. Suspect he'll have starring roles in the next few films too.

Saw it this afternoon. Loved it!

I think the obliviate serum can be explained away by being, well, magic. And didn't Newt say something about it taking away bad memories, rather than all memories? Which would explain why Jacob seems to remember at the end. I think the Wizards were protected by being under the subway, either that or they prepared themselves before they sent the thunderbird up.

Jonny Depp does feel miscast as grindlewald, but we'll see. I'm guessing he was cast long before the recent domestic abuse scandal.

Loved the film but it was definitely for 10+, lots of talking and some really scary scenes and nasty deaths.

I assumed Graves/Grindlewald asked about Dumbledore because they had been lovers and he was intrigued/jealous about Newt.

I didn't think Newt had Aspergers, having seen Eddie Redmayne in a few films he seems to be a very one note actor.

Remember in the books, Hermonie used a spell to stop rain from touching Harry's glasses? Repello, I think it was. I assume the wizards probably managed to use the spell to repel rain from themselves completely.

I'm liking Grabthar's interpretation best. He did say about bad memories, so it would make sense that only the terrified / confused Muggles couldn't remember the events the Obscurus caused.

Hermione's spell was Impervious, I think.

I've been looking on line at the references to HP, they all list the obvious ones like the "I'm more of a chaser actually" line.

But I can't see the one I thought was the best...unless I'm remembering it wrong?

When they first properly met, Did Newt point to Tina's nose and say "you've got something on you nose". Like hermione did to Ron when they first met in the first book?

Newt: pointing at hot dog mustard still on Tina's lip

"er you've got something on your.."

So similar but not quite
