anyone?

no but I fancy seeing it

the book is good so maybe the film will be a disappointment

expatinscotland · 16/01/2007 14:27

I hated the book.

But I love Forrest Whittaker and James McAvoy, so I'd like to see the film.

oliveoil · 16/01/2007 14:28

I saw Forest Whittaker blubbing at the Globes though and he went right down in my estimation then

katiebirdie · 16/01/2007 14:28

Saw it on sunday and felt a bit mixed about it. The guy playing Idi Amin was fantastic! but James McAvoy who played the Dr irritated me! Didnt find his character believable, just found him cocky, slimy and arrogant. Worth seeing but be warned it was a bit gruesome toward the end so if anyone has a weak stomach make sure you have finished all your snacks by then!

nikkie · 16/01/2007 21:07

I like James McAvoy too It was this or Miss Potter , we are going on Friday and most of us favour this.

Oh, no, I'd rather give that weegie midget James McAvoy a blow job - and swallow! - than endure two hours of that moon-face Renee Zellweger.

nikkie · 16/01/2007 22:30

My thoughts too Expat (though not so graphic )
Though Miss Potter does have Ewan (sp?) McGregor mmmmmm

OP posts:
mrsflowerpot · 16/01/2007 22:39

Yes but isn't Ewan McG sporting a dodgy moustache? He does not carry a moustache well, imo.

Am looking forward to Last King of Scotland too, just have to work out when I can go.

expatinscotland · 16/01/2007 22:40

Ewan's presence is negated entirely by that intensely annoying Renee.

God, she is dire.

expatinscotland · 16/01/2007 22:40

Besides, exactly what is the point of Ewan in a film if he doesn't get naked?

mrsflowerpot · 16/01/2007 22:41

He doesn't do that so much these days though

nikkie · 16/01/2007 22:43

well I'll just have to persuade everyone out of Miss Potter then
2 have already seen it anyway it was just that one of t he blokes fancies Renee [rolls eyes]

I was quite disappointed by Ewans part in Stormbreaker , only in it for abot 10 mins and he was fully clothed

Some friends of mine have seen it and said it was fab. I loved the book, but am in 2 minds about seeign the film. Am off to Uganda next month to work in a hospital, so might wait until I come back

Ready · 20/01/2007 15:06

I know it's too late, as your trip to the cinema was yesterday, but I just wanted to say that Last King Of Scotland was very good. Forrest Whittaker (sp) was brilliant, and as always James mcEvoy was awesome!! The gruesome scenes towards the end did make me feel queasy but don't let that stop you... hide behind your hands like I did!!

Well worth watching!!

nikkie · 21/01/2007 22:00

NEver got to thios in the end but am still planning on going.

Have had the book on my shelves unread for years - saw the film last night. It is a good film, but not a pleasant night out - I couldn't watch at the end. Well acted throughout though.
Miss Potter has been universally critically panned as far as I can make out.

saltire · 18/08/2007 12:19

Finally got round to watching this las tnight. I read the book a while ago and quite enjoyed it, not so sure on the film though. A bit too graphic for my liking - it's one thing reading about something, but not watching it. Plus don't like James MacAvoy either
