Was watching Mrs Doubtfire a film I've always loved with my dcs the other day and looking at it now it's pretty creepy. Maybe I'm just looking into it to much.

I also never realised that grease was about teenage pregnancy ect.

Joffrey Its a bit moodier and darker than Grease which is all fun and light. The kids are the next year I think, although Frenchie is in it. It's got a young Michelle Pfeifer in it. Give it a watch.

hellsbellsmelons · 11/02/2016 16:43

Big!
Although I still love it and watch it, the fact he is a boy having sex is a bit weird even if he is in an adults body.

SellMySoulForSomeSleep · 11/02/2016 16:43

Big - a 13 year old boy inside the body of a man. He had an adult relationship and sex. I love love love the film but it does make me cringe now.

SagaAndMartinsLiftConvos · 11/02/2016 16:44

I've not seen Grease 2. Is it good?

No. It is terrible. But in the best possible way Grin

Disclaimer: haven't seen it since I was about 12, when I was obsessed with it. I still know all the words to Cool Rider though Blush

SellMySoulForSomeSleep · 11/02/2016 16:45

Jinx Hellsbells!

PuppyMonkey · 11/02/2016 16:49

I watched Breakfast Club recently and while I still loved them all I did find myself sympathising with the poor teacher who had to come in on Saturday and deal with all that. Bleddy kids.

hellsbellsmelons · 11/02/2016 16:49

Spooky

fastingmum123 · 11/02/2016 17:12

Oh I forgot about big that is pretty wrong, even if he is in an adults body!

It's the song about the Sabine women

I had to go look it up as I thought that was to do with abducting them, which I admit is no better.

It seems they don't use the word rape for this like we do now but use it for the abduction.

MitzyLeFrouf · 11/02/2016 17:23

Wasn't it lucky in Seven Brides that everyone fancied the one they were paired up with. There weren't any 'but I want THAT one' style huffs! Grin

BottleOfGinger · 11/02/2016 17:28

Defo Grease. If a boy disrespects you and basically sexually assaults you on the first date you can win him back by completely changing yourself and starting smoking!

Ughnotagain · 11/02/2016 17:29

Grease 2 is shit. It really is.

The start of Dumbo makes me a bit Confused in fact, all of Dumbo really, with all its not-so-subtle racism.

fastingmum123 · 11/02/2016 17:31

Being bored just googled and found rape in Latin means to abduct. The Roman men used to abduct Sabine women to be their wives.

fastingmum123 · 11/02/2016 17:34

The beginning of dumbo is so sad. The pink elephant song used to really scare me.

imwithspud · 11/02/2016 17:39

The ones that sprung to my mind have already been mentioned: Big and The Parent Trap!

fastingmum123 · 11/02/2016 17:54

Home alone how on earth have they not had social services involved the amount of times they have left him.

lookoutitsapiano · 11/02/2016 17:59

The Wizard Of Oz. They didn't even bother to look for Dorothy, it's just like 'oh well, she's gone, shut the door'. Hmm

228agreenend · 11/02/2016 18:01

blues Brothers - always remembered this has a jolly musical. Therefore, allowed son to watch it with a friend years ago. Didn't realise how much swearing etc there was in it.

Clawdy · 11/02/2016 18:12

The point about the last scene in Grease is that they've both tried to change their image - Danny is dressed as a sporty "jock" and Sandy is in her leather gear!

magpie17 · 11/02/2016 18:19

I watched seven brides for seven brothers for the very first time at Christmas because my DH loved it as a child. I'm 35. I was so shocked that it was seemingly 'OK' to abduct a bunch of women and hold them hostage because you were a bit horny!

Heavenscent86 · 11/02/2016 18:21

The pink elephant song in dumbo. Is that the psychedelic scene? I was really scared of that too (thought I was the only one) and still don't really watch Dumbo now if my daughter has it on.
Pinocchios really quite shocking when you watch it as an adult.

Clawdy · 11/02/2016 18:23

Not making excuses for them but the idea was to marry the girls, but they forgot to bring the parson as I remember! They weren't holding them hostage.

Littledafty · 11/02/2016 18:31

I know it's not a movie but The Thorn Birds.
Remember my mum used to watch it and I loved it. My sister gave me the dvd last year, and just yuck! 'Father Ralph' perving over a really young Meggie.

fastingmum123 · 11/02/2016 18:36

Heavenscent yes that's the one I really didn't like it but I was quite an easily scared child I have never seen the whole of labyrinth as it scared me so much.

OP posts:
Heavenscent86 · 11/02/2016 18:41

Funnily enough I didn't get scared of labyrinth or the child catcher in Chitty Chitty bang bang which I probably should have been. But I was scared of ET for some reason.
