Grizzly man - think that's the name of it anyway

Spoil alert if you haven't watched it - wouldn't really recommend it though.

Got this from the video shop without reading too much of the blurb on the back - started watching and was convinced that none of the characters were real, and the director was making them act badly leading up to some clever and horrible twist in the end. The coronor was really wierd. His ex girlfriend was wierd. Thought it was in a similar vein to Fargo and it was going to turn out the grizzly man himself had gone a bit loopy and killed his girlfriend. Or am I missing something and that's what the film was trying to insinuate anyway? Strange but vaguely enjoyable film - have to say some of the footage was pretty incredible - but he was a bit daft and irresponsible.

No... looking at imdb it seems that the people were all the real people, hence the bad acting. Sounds a very depressing film!!!

Like with DH and Project X "You'll like it, its got monkeys" Yeah - monkeys having radiation experiments done on them!!!

They were real people but so wierd - perhaps they are just being Americans .
Risks he took were similar to the aussie guy - I obviously need a memory upgrade because I can't remember his name either. So watching him with his back to the bears just metres away was quite fascinating - but daft because they got used to him - puts other people who might come across them in more danger because they lost the fear of humans.

it's on at 10pm on sunday on the discovery channel, with a special show afterwards, have to watch!

Would love to know what you think. My view of it is a bit warped I think because i watched it not realising it was a documentary film.

maybe that's the best way to watch it! sounds very weird

wow finally watched it! very strange film, they were mad to stay at the end in the 'maze'! it's like he was just waiting for an attack. thought it was sad when they talked to his parents and they showed his collection of teddy bears! i think the other man was right when he talked about him seeing bears as human and not wild animals, he got way too close.

Glad you seemed to have enjoyed it!

yes i did! i was just looking on the imdb, it's quite scary how many people were intested in hearing the last tape, can't think why they'd want to really, grim .
