family Christmas movies for 2015?

Just wondering if anyone knows of any family movies due to be released around Christmas time?

We went to watch paddington on Christmas Eve last year followed by tea out and had a lovely day and the dc's are asking to do the same this year.

I know star wars is due to be released but was hoping for something DD 5 and DS 9 would both enjoy.

Thanks

Thank you. MTWTFSS

A christmas star might be ok but some of the others are definitely not family friendly especially the night before and dismembering christmas Grin

Also we just watched the trailer for Krampus. I'd quite like to see it but ds may be having nightmares for a few weeks

Not per say Christmassy, but The Peanuts Movie is out in December Grin

I want to take my DC and DH to the iMax this year , I will have a look in a few weeks to see what films are out.

A Christmas Star looks most festive I reckon Xmas Grin

Isn't 'Stickman' due out this winter?

Rowboat · 20/09/2015 20:34

Stickman is on telly, not cinema. There's a new Pixar called The Good Dinosaur, which is out end Nov. It's not Christmassy as such, but does look family magical.

Littlemousewithcloggson · 20/09/2015 20:34

The new Alvin and the Chipmunks is due out on 23rd december

I have nightmares about A&theC

Years ago ( it would've been 2009) my DC were 7 and 10.

DH and I had a Tradition. I went to Sainsburys in peace to do The Big Shop. He took the DC to the cinema (in the same building) then helped me load the car etc.

So, we were due to meet him. It was the week before Christmas, heavy snow started to fall, very pretty .We had driven, he was coming to the shopping centre by bus from work.

I bought the tickets the DC were excited.............
DH bus was (unknown to me) stuck in snow, he had to walk (about 4 miles)
My phone battery died so I couldn't contact him.

There was no option but to take them in and hope DH realised where we were .

After 30 minutes , maybe less, we all got evacuated from the cinema as there was a fire alarm.
DH was waiting, (inside the shopping centre) but frozen.
The traffic was going nowhere, so we went to Sainsburys as we couldn't drive anywhere. But it wasn't my relaxed shop, I had narky DH and DC.

We got our tickets refunded and I took DD in the new year, DS went with friends.
I couldn't face those squeaky voiced little rodents without commiting crimes Grin

Have they made Stickman? Yay

I love my children but will not sit through an Alvin and the chipmunks movie unless someone is paying me some serious money.

Just googled the good dinosaur and think that might be one. Now if someone could please watch it first and let me know if any long extinct, not real, cgi, cartoon dinosaurs die I'd be very grateful. I have a feeling I may end up blubbing through that film.

I can't stand the squeaky little things either - I was just trying to be helpful!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/09/2015 21:18

Yes, but 6 years later, if I still blame the Chipmunks entirely Xmas Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/09/2015 21:20

If my guinea-pigs start forming a band and singing Katy Perry songs...............................well, I'll have to "sort" them

The IMAX has shown Polar Express at xmas time, not just in the year it was released but is amazing in 3D, otherwise not so much

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/09/2015 21:58

I love The Polar Express (I have the DVD too) DD and I would watch it but I don't think my DS (16 at Christmas) would.

I'd love to see A Christmas Carol (the animated one) in IMAX 3D. (Though DH prefers the Alistair Simms or Albert Finney one )

scrappydappydoo · 20/09/2015 22:03

Star Wars episode 7!!!!!!!

Davros · 20/09/2015 23:49

I'm sure a 16 year old would enjoy PE in IMAX 3D (if they do it this year)
