What short films do your children like?

By short I mean a similar length to the Gruffalo film. We've got that, the Gruffalo's child and Room on the Broom. Does anyone know of any similar ones in terms of length and target age group?

The Snowman and the Snowman and the Snowdog go down well in our house (2 1/2 yr old).

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 01/03/2015 20:58

My 4yo enjoys the wallace and gromit short films

Dr0pThePirate · 02/03/2015 09:29

It's very short, only 2 and a half mins long but DS loves it for the dog. It's on youtube though so watch out for the comments as always Hmm

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 02/03/2015 09:31

my dd's 6 and 2 love wallace and gromit.

also some of the older Disney are only about an hour long eg dumbo Grin

SamanthaAndSamaris · 02/03/2015 09:35

The Angel and the Soldier Boy is lovely, quite similar in style to The Snowman.

The Mousehole Cat is also gorgeous, quite old fashioned animation style, but well loved by my kids.

We have some Wallace and Gromit, but my younger one finds them a bit too scary, especially The Wrong Trousers.

We have an ancient DVD of Beatrix Potter animated tales too, which I love.

I think Lost and Found is beautiful, but my children don't like it as much as I do.

Father Christmas is a good one, but maybe a bit Christmassy for everyday consumption.

sparkysparkysparky · 02/03/2015 09:37

I think it's called Blue Umbrella and was a short on the Blu - ray of Monsters' University. Made our dd cry first time and we've probably watched it more than the main film. Umbrella has adventure in the City. Mild peril and romance involved.

DoveOfPeace · 02/03/2015 09:39

One of my younger cousins used to love First Snow of Winter.

It has been years since I last watched it though, so I don't remember an awful lot about it.

RositatheSeata · 02/03/2015 11:09

Oh and DS loves those musical Tony Scott George DVDs - Wheels on the Bus etc. they're about half an hour long, and Tony Scott George isn't annoying or creepy which is a boost!

PotteringAlong · 02/03/2015 11:14

The problem with lost and found is the sea monster - every time DS is indignant because it's not in the book!

cheeseandcrackers · 02/03/2015 20:17

we have all the Christmas versions of the animated films - Merry Madagascar and the Christmas Ice Age and Shrek the Halls - all about 20mins long and great for small children with short attention spans

DoveOfPeace · 02/03/2015 22:31

The Forgotten Toys is another that I have not seen for years, but I remember it being quite nice.
