Sorry, didn't spot it on your list! It's a 12A - anyone any idea yet whether it's at the OK or the 'why on earth isn't it a 15' end of the spectrum? (thinking of taking 11 yo DD with her big brothers)

LilMissSunshine9 · 21/01/2015 14:14

Auntie are you referring to Kingsman being a 12a? only because cineworld have it at a 15 rating

Oh bugger! I was going by what it said on the BBFC site, but I've just checked and I was looking at a page for the trailers. If it's a 15, then I'll have to scrub the plan to go en famille (and deal with what will no doubt be a miffed 14yo).

Could you not find a film that is age appropriate for your daughter that is on roughly same time as the Kingsman film. You can all go to the cinema together but split up with strict instructions to meet up by toilets or something afterwards? Plus they have phones so in emergency can call you if you can't find each other.

Great idea for a thread!!

There's no doubt the two films I'm most excited to see are Avengers: Age of Ultron and Star Wars: Episode VII. The most recent trailer for Avengers makes it look a lot darker than Avengers Assemble. I can't wait to see all the new characters and it looks like we might be getting some Black Widow back story, which should be good.

I want to be excited about Ant-Man, and I was originally when Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish were involved. The choice for the new writer and director don't really fill me with a great deal of confidence. I'll be very happy if I'm wrong but I'm expecting a very weak Marvel installment.

I've not been terribly into the original Mad Mad films but Fury Road has piqued my interest somewhat.

Jurassic World just goes without saying. DINOSAURS!!

I'm not normally a huge fan of horror remakes (except for the 1982 version of The Thing) but I'm quite looking forward to the new Poltergeist. If it was anyone else involved I'd have more reservations but the fact that Sam Raimi is producing gives me hope and Sam Rockwell is generally brilliant so it'll be worth seeing.

Crimson Peak is another that goes without saying. I love Guillermo del Toro, I'd go see pretty much anything with his name on it! The cast is also intriguing; Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, Burn Gorman and Charlie Hunnam. Doug Jones is also on the cast list but currently without a character listed............... Very interesting!!

I've not managed to see Part 1 yet but I'm still looking forward to Mockingjay Part 2.

Finally there's Insidious: Chapter 3. I love the first two and I'm especially looking forward to this as it's shifting the focus onto Elise, Tucker and Specs who have always been the best characters in the Insidious films.

Thanks :) I can't watch horror movies not ever since I was dragged to watch Paranormal Activity (I couldn't sleep properly for two weeks after every noise at night freaked me out).

Oops typo in my list it should be Avengers Age of Ultron but yes cannot wait for that I have been watching the Agents of Shield TV series and love how it fills in the gaps between movies.

To be honest you could miss Part 1 of MockingJay or just skip to the last 10 mins when it gets exciting. I honestly hand on heart say it was a complete filler movie and at the end it started to get exciting.

Just wondering how you were getting on with watching your list so far!

After my epic fail on The Kingsman, the films we're looking forward to are Home (imminently) and Pixel (date keeps changing, probably August).
