Tesco online dvd rental - anyone used this?

A mate in the US was telling us that he and his family use this sort of service. It sounds great, you pay £13.99 a month (cheaper than all Sky Movies channels I think, or about the same) and you then make an online list of all the films you want to see. They post you 3, you can keep them as long as you like and when you post one back in prepaid envelope they send you another one from your list (I think randomly)

Has anyone used it? Would anyone use it?

I would (but have to buy dvd player first!)

There's another one called LoveFilm here which I have been weighing up - if you opt for the cheapest package it's £9.99 a month (but that's only 1 DVD at a time) . The only thing that puts me off is that I would want to use it, for example, to watch all the episodes of the West Wing from the beginning - but there's no guarantee you'll get them in the right order. Thing is, I can see us getting a DVD and never getting round to watching it - you have to have a fairly quick turnover to get value for money.

We use LoveFilm - it's fantastic, can't recommend them enough. The trick with that series thing, marthamoo, is to only have the next one you want to watch on your list (interspersed with lots of films you want to see of course, just to make sure they can send out something). We're watching our way through a couple of series as and when they turn up, then just adding the next CD once we've seen it.

So Tesco is a lot cheaper for the 3 cd package - £13.99 plays £19.99

I can see us watching quite a few, the prob with the video shop is they have to be back next day and we often want to split one over 2 nights, this would stop that prob.

I use the Tesco DVD online rental. I pay £7.97 per month and only have one at home. We watch about 1 or 2 a week. I think its really good value and the choice is fab. You can reserve the ones that are at the cinema.

We use tesco dvd, and used the sainsburys one before that. But tesco offer bonus points for signing up to it and so far the dvd's have been less scratched than from Sainsburys.

"Tesco DVD Rental is no longer 'Powered by Video Island' but instead will be 'Powered by LOVEFiLM'." so probably better to get it throught tesco's and at lest get some points out of the deal!

We have 3-at-a-time Tesco DVD rental, signed up a few months ago, and I recently got an email offering 1000 bonus points and a discount for paying 12 months in advance - only the payment was for 10 months (hence the discount!) So £139 for 12 months plus the equiv of £40 off in Clubcard deals.

They have a huge list too.

Yes Tesco send episodes in the correct viewing order. (i recently watched the whole of Green Wing)

we use screenselct (affiliated to boots), they too are now lovefilm, so i reckon it must all be the same company.....a massive dvd cartel!....like the sopranos but with less swearing lol
