My 14yo said last night she would like to see some 'good science fiction films'

Not sure she's actually seen many (apart from the Star Trek reboots) ... what would be your top picks for this age group please?

All I can add is don't bother looking out Logan's Run - I raved about it to DH, finally got it on Lovefilm . . . and it is utter, utter shite

I assume she's seen all the Back to the Future and Star Wars films?

Minority Report. Also, I know it's not really science fiction but I saw it first at an all night sci fi film screening - Dr Strangelove. One of the best films ever made.

Any James Bond film from the 60's...

Oddly enough, James Bond cropped up when we were talking this evening - how long he'd been around and different actors - so she concluded he's actually a Time Lord .

Galaxy Quest! That's a good laugh. It has Alan Rickman in a comedy role too.
