Came free with today's Observer.
I've been told it's a masterpiece.
I cannot cope with things with dead children in them.
Is it all about their daughter, really, or is that bit just a back story? (Like it was in Dead Calm: they were on the boat trying to escape from their lives after the accident etc.)
Is it worth watching?

why don't I just watch the film and find out, I know that's wahat you're all thinking.

On the other hand, may help with my current problem as posted in the pregnancy section on the basis a good fright may start me off (but I'm NEVER going to be that desperate)...

oooo! i missed getting this in the observer on sunday.. i heard a reading of the story on radio 4 a couple of years ago and scared me witless... you know classic radio four stories... listening to it in the dark and have always wanted to see the film... always missing it when it was on telly!...

pruni... as far as i can tell it really is a scarey one... so stay away!

We passed on the Observer this Sunday because neither of us felt we could face ever seeing Don't Look Now again. I do think it is a masterpiece though. I would not trust Nic Roeg's version of the truth on any issue - I bet they really were at it, it just looks so convincing...
We did enjoy Claude Chabrol's The Butcher though, free with the Indy the previous weekend I think - yikes, spookerama, but no children menaced or meeting untimely ends.

I've loved this film since I was a teenager - but it isn't one for you if you're feeling fragile about dead children.
Its a thriller/horror film in the old fashioned sense - lots of suspense rather than in your face. Brilliant, but very sad.

i didn't quite get it tbh, he spent most of the film chasing the dwarf in the red coat who he thought was his daughter?!?!? then the dwarf kills him at the end why????? and I can't even remember the sex scene (must have been asleep) Grin
