Any examples for me to watch?

I didn't see the twist in the usual suspects coming, also the orphanage, any similar films?

I was going to suggest the Orphanage. I'm probably a bit daft but I didn't see the twist coming in The Others.

Heavensmells · 26/11/2012 01:45

The Prestige with Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman. I loved the twist at the end.

DontForgetTheLightAlesLawrence · 26/11/2012 01:48

Orphan - not to be confused with The Orphanage - fab film, that.

Cynner · 26/11/2012 01:57

I did not see the twist coming in the "sixth sense"..the movie still scares me..

peggysuenotmarried · 03/12/2012 19:25

All of the above plus Fight Club, Memento, Shutter Island, Oldboy, Planet of the Apes and The Crying Game.
(Oldboy is a tough watch - be warned)

TheNightwearBeforeChristmas · 03/12/2012 19:29

The only one that comes to mind is Fight Cub.

TheNightwearBeforeChristmas · 03/12/2012 19:30

I don't see how anybody could have seen the twist coming in Vanilla Sky. However I didn't see the twist in any of the films mentioned above; think I must be an undemanding viewer.

OldBoy is a cracking film! And I'm not really a big fan of fight scenes in films but there is one in particular there that is brilliant (the corridor bit).

glamourousgranny42 · 18/12/2012 21:06

Shutter island and in a similar vein A Beautiful Mind as I didn't know the story behind it.

NoGinorWine4Mu1berry · 10/01/2013 14:02

The Prestige. That was a very clever film. I really liked it. I watched it again and realised that you're the viewer on two different levels really.

iseenodust · 10/01/2013 14:07

Sixth sense got me too.

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 10/01/2013 14:15

im sure there's a film ive seen recently that had a twist i wasnt expecting.

will ask dh tonight or tomorrow (he's away), so im marking my place so i hopefully dont forget

nomoreminibreaks · 10/01/2013 14:21

Aside from those mentioned, I saw 'One Day' recently and didn't see that coming. I actually gasped! maybe because it was the first interesting thing that happened

My sister told me there was a 'huge twist' in sixth sense so unfortunately I worked it out in the first 10 minutes and it ruined the film for me.

Dillydollydaydream · 10/01/2013 14:23

Sixth sense and the others.

readyforno2 · 10/01/2013 14:23

First film I thought of was the others but also Remember Me. Cried like a baby...

ShatnersBassoon · 10/01/2013 14:32

I watched The Prestige last night. The twist really made me Shock too, and I'm usually a real arse who likes to spoil films by loudly predicting what's going to happen.

Trills · 10/01/2013 14:32

Just being told "this movie has a twist" is enough to put you on high alert.

cookielove · 10/01/2013 14:39

I didn't see the twist in the sixth sense and when I watched it for the second time I STILL didn't see it coming (dumb brunette)

FellatioNels0n · 10/01/2013 14:48

One Day (although I read the book first so strictly speaking I did see it coming in the film) and the Sixth Sense - OMG!!!!

Another one (in book form admittedly but I would not be surprised if it makes it to the big screen) is The Dinner by Herman Koch. Great book, leaves you reeling a bit at the end, going 'WTF?' Shock

FellatioNels0n · 10/01/2013 14:50

nomore I remember 'that bit' in the book of One Day and gasping out loud 'Aaah?! No!!!! That can't happen!!!!'

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 10/01/2013 17:45

agree with one day. read the book first and kept rereading the previous few pages as i thought id missed something Blush

totally forgot about it and in the film it made me jump and i was so Shock

NoGinorWine4Mu1berry · 11/01/2013 19:15

starter for ten a much better book. no twist but it was just better and funnier. the understudy and one day coasted on starter for ten's success (imo)

bruffin · 11/01/2013 19:21

I hadnt read the book of One Day and i jumped out of my skin and knocked my glasses off.
I got sixth sense a minute before the reveal.
