The Raid is an 18 rated movie from Indonesia, a SWAT team go into a building to arrest a crime lord but the building is full of criminals and the team get ambushed and trapped on the 6th floor.
it's somewhat Die Hard crossed with the gun action of Hard Boiled and the gritty realistic fighting of Ong Bak. There is no holding back, plenty of people getting stabbed with machetes and shot in the face, but I for one loved it, best film I've seen in years, the fighting is really real it's like all those very painful looking Jackie Chan blooper reels rolled into one for each fight, it's very old school.
So if you like John Woo films gunplay and martial arts movies like Chocolate, Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong go see it, it's very rare for small films like this to be on at the mainstream cinema chains so show your support.
