My mother, who is in her 70s, is coming to stay for a few days this w/e. We have quite a difficult relationship and typically we would end up in silence watching whatever tv programme she fancied during the evenings. So this time, I'm trying a change of tact....
Can anyone recommend a suitable film - but here's the catch....she winces at any scenes of nudity or kissing (heaven forbid anything else!)....It has to have a sensible story line too (ie beginning, middle & end). Can you help????
Please don't suggest that I go out for the evening - she never offers to babysit and I really won't be able to change her.
Can someone help?

What about some golden oldies like the lady eve or his girl friday?

I must say that my dh loved the 1980s BBC Mansfield Park series when I forced him to watch it we watched it a few months ago. It is quite long though, and a bit 'mannered' at first - the episode with the children is not great, but thank goodness they grow up quickly. It's the one with Sylvestra Le Touzel in.

What about an older film? I Know Where I'm Going is very cheerful. Gotta love Clive Livesey.

All great suggestions - keep them coming...then I'll be raiding HMV or the library on my day off! Thank you x
