Hello everyone,

I have 3 year old twin boys and have never taken them to the cinema. Can you please share your experiences of taking young children to the cinema, good and bad ones please!

Advice thankfully received....

Many thanks!!

I took my 2yo ds to cinema and he loved it so much he had a big tantrum when we left! They have a "kids club" at our local cinema on sat and sun morning which is £1.95 for adult + child - so cheap we don't care what we watch (they are always films a couple of months old) and you don't mind potty breaks/noisy kids etc

I took my DD at the young age of 4 weeks old and before any shock reactions, its a BABY CINEMA club where the sound is turned down and the lights are up. She loves it!!! Shes now 4 months old and Thursday morning is BABY CINEMA (I won't mention the name) CLUB!

So if anyone is a bit nervous of taking their kids to the cinema the first time phone up your local one and check if they run this type of baby club.

Failing that, most of them do the Saturday morning shows at cheaper prices.

We go to saturday morning club too a pound for everyone with games before -it gets them used to sitting still for 90 mins -agree about taking snacks healthier and cheaper.
Again nobody gets stressed about the odd noisy kid and pottybreaks as is a film we sometimes have seen before.
(mine are 1 3 5 and 12 and have been going to cinema since babies)

Quick question - for the mums/dads out there taking their little ones would you prefer the sound down and the lights up for their first trips etc???? Let me know, I may be able to arrange something at my local. I'd never thought about the 3year olds, plus it could be good like this for the Movie Mob shows at the weekend which are cheap. So if they don't like it, as a mum/dad you wouldn't be bothered about going home and trying again another time.
