Hi all,
I need to do an assignment on a film suitable for teenagers. I have to talk about how it teaches moral values and do an ehical analisis of it. Really don't know which film to choose, any ideas???

TIA

Vicky

Oh yes the Wave was brilliant, it's in German though just to let you know. What about to Kill a Mocking Bird? Very old but brilliant.

Or Lord of the Flies - think they made that as a film didn't they? We read that one at school.

Yes - To Kill a Mockingbird and Lord of the Flies too - I'd second those.

Also, depending on how old the teens are, I'd also put forward "Higher Learning" by John Singleton.

Would 'of mice and men' be any good?

Lots to go at in that film - lonliness, learning disability, intolerance, bullying, loyalty, compassion and so on

Try Tsotsi - S African gang culture - or Crash (the Thandie Newton racism-themed one, not the James Spader filthy one!). Or Kidulthood. I was really surprised at how good that one was.

I was thinking of suggesting American History X but it's far too violent for young teens. This is England maybe?

'Hotel Rwanda'?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, definitly keeping them all in mind for future assignments. In the end I did "Pay it Forward". Has anyone seen it, it's actually pretty good.
