Which is your favourite Christmas film for kids?

I want to buy DS (4) and DD (17 months) a Christmassy movie that they (well mainly DS because for DD to pay any attention this year it would have to be Teletubbies Christmas special) can watch in the run up to Christmas. Anyone any ideas what I should go for and also what I should avoid? Price is a factor.

I wondered about the Grinch, Miracle on 34th Street etc.

Muppets Christmas Carol!!!!

I love it (DD is being trained to love it). It makes me feel all festive and fuzzy.

Agree with Muppets Christmas Carol although I think it's probably more apreciated by slightly older children (my ds1 is 7). We also have a reindeer one - cartoon style - that both mine love. Is it Rudolph ??

FauxVampire · 20/10/2005 16:07

The Snowman is lovely.

Muppets Christmas Carol, without a doubt!! It starts at the beginning of december-ish and gets watched every day until dd learns to love it too!!!

Miracle on 34th Street is lovely but a bit too old I feel. My ds is 3.5 and doesn't enjoy the Grinch. we ahve adisney one and a cheapy one about Rudolph and he loves them.

His fave is the Snowman though.

Kidstrack2 · 20/10/2005 16:30

I love THE SNOWMAN, I'm going to show it to my ds this year, and hope he loves it as much as I did when I was a kid!

macwoozy · 20/10/2005 16:41

Another one here for The snownman.

scotlou · 20/10/2005 16:51

My dh bough "The Santa Clause 2" last week for our 2 kids - and we're watching it already! 5 year old likes it - 3 year old fell asleep. We also saw Elf last year at the Cinema as part of a kids birthday party - all the kids (ages 2 -7) loved it.

I taped The Snowman, The Bear and Father Christmas on Channel 4 last year and we watched them over and over. Particularly love The Bear.

My two have Mickey's Christmas Carol which was from ASDA a few years ago and is really good (in fact they watched it last weekend just to get in the festive spirit a bit early)!

KBear · 20/10/2005 16:53

Saw Polar Express at the cinema last year too and we all loved that. Must get the DVD for someone this year!

tiredemma · 20/10/2005 20:18
