I loved it!! Real feel good film (but I love animated films)... took my 10yo niece to a screening before Christmas and she still talks about it now!

Thinking of taking DS (6) and DD (5) over half term... the right up I saw was a bit "so so" in that it was all a bit too much of a vehicle for Elton John's music and didn't stay close enough to "the original".

But frankly, which kid is going to care about either of those things???!

Is it funny? Are the characters quirky? That's all I really care about!

i hated first 20 mins then totally fell for it. Very engaging somehow and my DD who is 7 also loved it.

I AM literate, I of course meant, WRITE up.

Thanks for your feedback! Think we will take the plunge.

in case anyone still thinking about this one - its brill. A big gang of us went yesterday, lots of mums and boys and girls ranging from 6 - 15. The 15 year old girl thought it was 'ok' all of the others (including 2 girls 12 & one 11 year old) thought it was brill

Ive been looking forward to see it since seeing the trailer before xmas and I saw it this last week and LOVED it.
As a 'U' film i was expecting to find it slightly childish and silly like Alpha and Omega for example, or Animals united but it did not disappoint! Both my friend and i found it very funny and a really sweet film. We both left wanting to see it again :)

We went at half term, and we loved it. I'll even confess to tapping my feet along to all those classic Elton tracks!

DC 6 and 5 by the way.

paulapantsdown · 01/03/2011 12:20

my kids loved (boys 9 and 6), but i didn't think it had many laughs for a kids film

anyone want to confess to shedding a tear or 2 at the story about the flamingos getting split up? Blush

Anonymousbird · 01/03/2011 18:45

OH! FoJo - the flamingos, it was all I could do - holding my breath and gulping a lot - to stop it!!!!
