I couldn’t see a thread on this and it got hardly any news coverage - the man cannot be named to protect his wife.

Another one. I couldn’t believe I had to type “and” after saying a man had drugged and raped his wife for 20 years.

I almost didn’t start a thread as it’s so horrific it actually makes me feel sick. If there is one already I’ll ask for it to be removed.

What is WRONG with men ? It’s not just a few. This is multiple men that knew and did this over year and years and years. How did they find each other ?

How many more women like this are there ? Unknowingly being raped and abused. It’s not clear how this came to light but I am glad the bastard is being charged along with the others.

There is another thread, called how many Pelicots. The BBC reporting on this on Monday said the details were so graphic that they would not be reporting them. Absolutely fucking horrendous.

Was that thread specifically about this …this horror of a man ? I thought that was - unfortunately- about another individual in another country.

Or are there now so many of these cases they all go into one thread ? God how hideous.

The man from Stockport is being tried in Manchester. And the other thread does mention several other similar cases.

It's all horrific but what I find especially shocking is the length of time this type of behaviour has been going on. It's tempting to think of this as a new phenomenon encouraged by the widespread use of extreme and violent porn. But the fact it was happening 20 years or more ago, before the porn epidemic really took off, is really surprising to me.

There are at least 4 UK cases this year, one in Austria, one in Canada, one in Germany - that's just what I can remember without checking. The international task force is investigating 113 across 9 countries, and it was only set up in April this year.

Bloody hell - just read on the BBC that the jury have been sent home until the 5th October. It is now expected to run until 18th December
