Are boys now being sold the same body hair pressures as girls?

Has anyone seen the ad aimed at boys/young men about removing body hair with a Gilette razor designed specifically for this purpose? Dh has been watching Sky Sports and it keeps popping up. It seems like boys are being sold the body hair issues girls have been dealing with for years. Is this gender equality?!

I think its becoming more common. Which is sad.

I have 2 late teen nephews, 1 has spoken to my DSis and 1 to me about removing bodyhair. Both seem to have gotten the idea from social media and feeling the need to fit in at school- I assume in the changing rooms. Neither have a girlfriend, though apparently according to DN who opened up to me about it "girls don't like hair on men"

He was planning on shaving his whole body.

I tried to explain this wasnt necessary and that it would be a never ending chore to keep up with. But then sort of felt like my Mum when she didnt want me to shave my legs and thats all I wanted to do.

I know friends with older boys are telling me they are asking for expensive razors to do the same.

Didn't Gillette start marketing razors to women due to men getting razor blades in the army for free? And thats the only reason leg and underarm hair is seen as unseemly (or worse)
Now beards are so in fashion they have to rebrand - and it appears to be in making boys believe they need to shave off all their body hair. And a new blade every few days as that (could potentially be a big hairy) surface area to grow back itchy

I agree, it's creating a new market for a problem that never existed.

DS is 20 and are far as I can tell his whole body resembles that of a yak! His facial hair grows fast so he shaves every day or two (he says his beard makes him look homeless), but thinks the idea of removing any other body hair is nuts. He's clearly not very susceptible to marketing...

My mate's brother was shaving his chest 20 years ago. He was really into the gym and had a pretty buff figure.

Gotta say, I cant ever remember seeing a hairy guy on the cover of Men's Health either.
