How can I help women and children in Afghanistan

The harm that is being inflicted on women and children there is unspeakable. I’d like to donate money but not sure which organisation or programme can get food, heating fuel, clothes, medicines, into the hands of women.

I very much doubt any money from any charity is going to women in Afghanistan.

The sad truth is that you can't. But there are plenty of women and children suffering in other parts of the world who can be helped.

Any way. Any way with any individual. And somehow it has to be safe enough.

Right now, what the women of Afghanistan need most, and have the most difficulty gaining access to is education. Girls who have just been left without primary education need help with simple lessons. Older women who have just been told that they are not allowed to work in the field they were trained on need help learning to run a small business from home, which will help sustain them for far longer than a single monetary contribution. Older girls are trying to figure out how they can still pursue their dream of getting a higher education, they need someone to help them figure out a path forward. There is series of underground organizations that are providing help to women and girls. You can offer your time, and be sure that you are helping someone, or you can make a donation after verifying (as you always should for all NGO's) that their financials are in order, and that most of the money is spent on aid and not on executive and managerial staff or advertising and events.
