I would read The Witch-Cult in Western Europe by Margaret Murray and The Triumph of the Moon by Ronald Hutton. Books by Zsuzsanna Budapest and Starhawk might also be of interest in the feminist context. Maybe Gerald Gardner, Janet and Stuart Farrar and Dion Fortune as well. Ultimately what is practiced as Wicca today is an ever changing hodgepodge of practices and any true pre-Christian religion is largely lost to time as it was practiced in Western Europe but it's a fascinating subject.
