Gaiman and two trans YouTube accounts

NC because I do not usually post about Trans issues, plus feminist theory is moving so quickly I do not feel I could make a relevant contribution to the discussion.
I do lurk and I read threads, I am here for an education from people who know far more than I do.

With that in mind, I watched a YouTube by a trans man called Schmowd3r.
He was speaking in defence of Gaiman’s (alleged) victims.

In addition, Schmowd3r was answering another creator called CouncilofGeeks.
CouncilofGeeks is a ‘trans’ woman. I have written the word trans in quotation marks as they prefer to be called ‘she’ but it looks to me that (and I do not know the correct way to say this) is playing dress up, rather than becoming a woman.

CouncilofGeeks has made a handful of videos defending Gaiman because they like his work.
During the argument they are making they express themselves in that shouting-a-woman-down way, or shouting over them. This comes across as very masculine to me, it feels like a man wearing purple lipstick is loudly mansplaining why the (alleged) victims could not possibly have been abused.
Additionally they do not understand UK/NZ/Australian law and why Tortoise media was so careful in their reporting.
Tortoise Media reported the story in a manner which would not affect any court cases.

FWIW I was born a woman, I am married to a man, I gave birth to our DCs. I like being a woman.

My questions -

Has anyone heard of CouncilofGeeks before? (I did search here and could not find it).
CouncilofGeeks takes such an anti-women stance, are they really surprised that we do not want people as aggressively anti-women in our spaces?

*If you are going to watch then I suggest watching Schmowd3r’s YouTube video of today.
Watching CouncilofGeeks will give them and all of their woman-hating rhetoric AdSense money because yes, that is just one of the many points Schmowd3r is making, that CoG is making money from his angry anti-victim tirades.

I hope this post makes sense and I would be interested in your perspectives on this.

Sorry. That was really rambling, I’m trying to make sense of the situation.

Thanks @PassUpThePig ive not heard of thes accounts but I’ll definitely give Schmowd3r a watch. Like you I am always up for learning more. I peaked a number of years ago and once you see it you can’t unsee it, but as you say things move fast. It’s good when we keep each other abreast of things to watch to stay in the loop. Thanks!

I'm completely confused by what this post is about tbh.

@SylvanMoon two YouTube accounts, both trans. Which is relevant.
Schmow = f to m
CoG = m to f

Both want to be accepted in their new gender.

CoG has put out at least 4 videos, each at over 1 hour, in defence of Gaiman.
Some of the things CoG discusses in defence of Gaiman are fucking outrageous, saying shitty things about the victims.
CoG goes through the allegations line by line dismissing or minimising the claims. I found it beyond infuriating.
CoG says they have been a huge Gaiman fan since childhood.

In response, Schmow takes CoG’s main points apart, one by one.

CoG does not have experience of living as female rather than trans-female, whereas Schmow was born female and spent their earliest years as a girl. It shows. Schmow demonstrates an innate understanding of threat, assault and coercion of women, CoG does not.
During their video CoG shouts at the camera in a way I find very masculine, the way men do when they are condescending to women.
If female YouTubers did this they would lose subscribers very quickly. It’s shit but it is how things are, women are only allowed to be angry about certain subjects, in a manner palatable to viewers. I hate it.

CoG does not understand UK law, which is very similar to NZ and Australian law. Some of Gaiman’s offences happened in NZ.
This is relevant because they do not understand why we allege a crime until proven, why we protect victims and the sanctity of a court case.
They ignore the relevance of different women, different ages, on three continents to date, raising similar stories.
In Gaiman’s case these stories are very particular.
Does CoG really believe that a random group of women got together to get their stories straight?

Gaiman has plenty of $$$$, many fans and a huge platform, he does not need idiots like CoG supporting him.

CoG claims to be m - f trans.
Presumably CoG wants to be able to be in women’s spaces. Through their defence of Gaiman they have shown exactly why this should not be allowed.
They cannot recognise the privacy and safety, or even the voices, of women.

Then I asked if you want to see and understand what I am posting about, you to watch Schmowd3r’s video instead of CoG’s as CoG earns money per view.

Does that make sense?
