I posted this link in a pre-existing thread, but someone said it might be better to start a fresh thread, so here goes.
I wrote a letter a couple of years ago to a man who groomed me when I was 15 and he was 37. When I wrote this my own child had recently turned 15 and myself 37, so my contribution is as a survivor and a mother.
I never sent the letter, but after eventually reporting it to the police I decided to share it anonymously to contribute to the debate around age of consent.
Please take a moment if you wish to read this and leave any comments. I’m interested in how other parents see this, and what current concerns for teens are like (recognising that times have changed but also plus ça change…)
