My boyfriend is sexist

I was just talking with my boyfriend and he told me he is sexist. I don't know how to react because we've been together for so long and I guess I was too blind to notice. He also called feminism trash and pointless. Is it a valid reason to break up after a year ?

its prob worth a chat about what he thinks feminism is? right?? because if he's been told feminism is essentially "female supremacy and hating all men" then thats a useful chat lol. he might not be a nobhead, right?

Well if you haven't realised yourself after a year I would presume you have bigger problems not opening your eyes to be perfectly honest, why do you need to check with us do you not trust your own own judgement?

Did he mean "sexy" and he got his words mixed up?

What does he mean by sexist? He thinks (if one is to generalize) that men make better soldiers and firemen, whereas women are often better at caring and nurturing? Or does he think women can't do maths or science and would never allow himself to be driven or flown by a woman because that's too dangerous?

What does he think feminism is? What have you ever said to him about your feminist beliefs? If he's listened to "trans inclusive" feminism then surely he is right?

How much of a feminist are you that the subject has never come up before?
