This is the motion that the article talks about.
Lancaster City Council
it is interesting that there is a lot on how it affects “intersex” people which previously as far as I am aware wasn’t really something considered or talked about.
It is very clear that the motion has been written by men who clearly have no idea of the impact on women because it states “ Non trans users of single sex spaces will in practice be no safer than before this ruling, and may in fact be at greater risk due to false challenges and accusations.”
They mean men don’t they? Women should just budge up and put up with it.
It goes on to say “The default mixed sex facilities that trans people will be expected to use will be disabled facilities, negatively impacting the availability of these facilities for their intended users.”
Really? So they’ve decided default should be the disabled should share, instead of “Let create a third space”?!
Much of this motion seemed to be based around toilet/changing facilities, which shows their ignorance of the wider issue of what the ruling was about, such as single sex domestic shelters, sports etc.
